Supporting Salusbury Refugee Centre and St John's Wood Adventure Playground

St. Johns Wood Adventure Playground

The St John’s Wood Adventure Playground aims to support children’s individual and social development, providing each with a foundation for their self and communal fulfilment.

The Playground offers a year-round programme of arts, crafts, sports and games. During the school holidays we organise off-site educational and recreational trips. It was established in 1957, making it London’s oldest adventure playground, and has traditional outdoor adventure play structures, a mini basketball court and digging area. The play-building has an art, games and pool room. The Playground currently has over 280 members, aged from 5 to 11 years.

Among the Playground’s special projects are disability awareness, promoting children’s health, sports coaching, gardening and an interfaith programme. Interplay is the name of the project that brings together children from our neighbourhood with those of Salusbury WORLD, whose members are of refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds.
